Ashok Kumar Jain is a Former Executive Director of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, BHEL. It is one of the largest Public Sector Unit (PSU) companies in India and a pioneering leader in the Indian Power Industry. At BHEL he has been involved in high impact roles spanning 37 years, including leadership roles at Engineering, Corporate Quality, and Corporate Strategy functions reporting to the Chairman and board of directors of BHEL.
As a passionate quality leader, Ashok serves on various national and international level committees involved with Quality, Reliability, and Organizational Excellence. Mr. Jain is an Elected Fellow of American Society for Quality, ASQ and an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA). He has presented papers related to Quality and Business Excellence, at international conferences in USA, Japan, China, Sweden, Singapore, and also at several national level conferences organized by CII and FICCI. His articles containing thought leadership and practice, have been published in prominent professional journals. He has delivered invited lectures at IITs, IIMs, LBSNAA, etc. He is a former President of the Indian Management Association, Hardwar Unit. He also guides the Quality Council of India, QCI, as Principal Advisor on national initiatives like the ZED program which is a strategic move by the Indian Government, to enhance the competitiveness of the country’s MSME sector for a robust supply chain. This is critically important for India to become self-reliant.
